Effective date: August 11, 2026
Anti Hallucinations is a browser extension that checks factual statements using artificial intelligence models that run on your own computer through Ollama. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with information.
None. The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising or tracking SDKs, and no external servers operated by the extension.
Any statement you type or select to verify is processed
entirely on your own machine. The text is sent only to the local Ollama
service running on your computer (by default at http://localhost:11434, or the
host you configure in the Options page). It never leaves your device over the public internet
as a result of using this extension.
The extension uses the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to remember
your preferences and a short local history. This stays on your device:
storage — save your settings and local history on your device.contextMenus — add the "Verify with Anti Hallucinations" option when you select
text.
alarms — periodically check whether your local Ollama is reachable, so the
toolbar icon can show online/offline status.
host_permissions for localhost:11434 /
127.0.0.1:11434 — connect to your local Ollama instance. A different host you
enter in Options is requested as an optional permission, granted only with your
explicit approval.
The only network requests the extension makes are to the local Ollama service on your machine (or a host you explicitly configure). No request is made to any other server.
The extension is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
If the extension ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated and the date above revised. The core commitment — no data collection — will not change.
